Raccoons! those endearing but annoying creatures, that are often misunderstood as "baby bears" are very fascinating. They belong to north and south America and are rarely seen in India. Almost every Indian who has watched "Doremon " can relate to it. But still, there is a lot more to know about them.
Their Paws are similar to humans!
Tying them by a rope is not a good idea since they can easily untie it using their human-like palms. It is interesting to know that they too have 5 fingers and can perform tasks like holding and opening the door.
Extremely fast!
This is though small but is very agile and fast. They are also known for running too fast. They can run up to 5 miles per hour.
Various Sounds!
They are highly vocal and can make more than 50 sounds ( don't get surprised if they make your sound too, because it is possible) They can make sounds like growling, whistling, purring and screaming.
Very Hygenic.
Raccoons are more hygienic than many of us. They like to be clean and keep themselves away from the mud. They also wash their food before eating by the water. These creatures are fond of bathing. (Oh god! now I feel ashame )
Very Intelligent.
Raccoons have IQ quite close to Humans. They come after After Apes and Monkeys and have an evolving Intelligence. They can learn from past experiences and can remember tricks up to 3 years(Oh ! again)
